When I first came to Morris, I definitely had the freshman jitters. I wondered if I would do well in school, if I would do well in volleyball, and if I would fit in with the other students. During the first week of preseason, I realized that I had nothing to worry about: We have become a very close family. Playing with them is so much fun! Which is why I was so disappointed that I sprained my ankle. Taking stats is not as fun as actually playing :) However, the girls have all been very supportive and uplifting, so I haven't been too depressed about not playing :) Hopefully I'll get the all clear to play this week!
Steph Schmiesing and I were inspirators of the week. We made posters for each of the girls that included their name and a border of inspirational words. Also, we bought a bag of candy (because who doesn't like candy?).
This Friday we took on Northwestern College. We played well and with a lot of energy, but unfortunately it wasn't enough. They beat us in three, but the games were all close. We'll get 'em next time! Saturday went well for varsity: we beat both Crown and Trinity Bible in three. All in all, we had a pretty good week, and we're looking forward to our upcoming matches!
